 IT Department provides a range of IT Services to Air Niugini.  The IT Service Catalogue is listed below.

Desktop Robust and standardized personal computing. Provide desktop services including laptops and other portable devices. 
Facilities Management Secure facilities that are maintained effectively.  Provide services for facilities management such as property management, building access, CCTV, and vehicles.
Security Business continuity and security of information Provide security services such as antivirus and firewall.
Web Hosting  Public interface satisfies availability and timeliness needs of customers. Provide website related services such as site hosting.
Data  Singe point of truth, information has integrity. Provide data services such as data warehousing, reporting, dashboards.
Power  Business continuity and preservation of ITD assets. Provide redundant power services such as UPS (no incl generators).
Printing  Accessibility to, and efficient production of information outputs. Provide managed print services including photocopying, facsimile, scanning, printing.
Employee Administration  Company employee records are secure and accurate. Provide employee services such as payroll, development, travel, benefits and HR.
Financial Company financial records are secure and accurate. Provide financial services such as supply chain, debtor management, general ledger.
Communications  Appropriate and efficient methods of communication are used. Provide communication services such as radios, mobile and fixed line telecommunications, conferencing.
Service Desk  To maximize investment in various services offered by ITD Provide any other services not specifically covered in the catalogue.
Test  Proper change management is undertaken, production environments are managed. Provide test and demonstration services.
Email  Electronic communications are secure Provide email services.
Enterprise Applications Staff have access to IT resources as appropriate. Provide enterprise application services such as incident management, document management, file share, active directory. 
Operational Applications Business owners enabled with IT solutions. Provide operational application services such as seat inventory management, sales, departure control, aircraft operations, MRO, flight planning.
Server Administration  Information is available as and when required. Provide server administration services such as servers, storage, back-up, redundancy. 

Service Requests

Requests for IT services can be made by staff via Heat. The following request types are available in Heat:

  • Domain (network) account
  • Email Account
  • Door Access
  • Internet Access
  • Telephone (desk, mobile post-paid, mobile CUG only)
  • Business Applications;
    • Aviator - Seat Inventory Management
    • Chris21 - Employee Administration
    • Epicor - Financial Administration
    • Geneva - Aircraft Operations
    • Sabre Airport - Departure Control
    • Sabre Reservations - Reservations/ Ticketing
    • Skychain – Cargo
    • Winair  Aircraft Maintenance

Service requests require approval from your manager and possibly a General Manager and/or business system owner depending on what is being requested. Heat will workflow the request through the approval process. A system notification will be emailed to you when the request has been approved and registered for IT action. You will also receive an email notification when your request is completed.
