Cabin Baggage Policy

 Air Niugini Business Class two (2) pieces not exceeding 14kgs and economy class one (1) piece of carry-on baggage not exceeding 22 x 18 x 10 inches (56 x 45 x 25cm) and weighs no more than 15lb (7kg).

  • Duty free purchases such as liquor, cigarettes and perfume are also permitted in reasonable quantities for all service classes.
  • Please check before purchasing duty free liquors as these may be confiscated even in sealed plastic bags at the next point of transit.
  • Liquid, aerosol and gels (LAGs) restrictions in effect in many airports may prevent these items from getting past security screening points

Sporting Equipment

 It’s inclusive in your free baggage allowance. When the total checked weight is greater than the free allowance, the excess charge shall be the total excess weight at normal excess baggage rate.

  • No extra allowance for all types of sporting equipment
  • Example, golf bag + baggage weight is greater than 23kgs, economy class, excess baggage rate applies for the excess weight

Missed, delayed and damaged Baggage

If you’re baggage is not available for collection on arrival, you must immediately lodge a report to Baggage services before you leave the airport. All bags must have name labels

  • Please retain your electronic ticket, baggage receipts and all necessary documents in the event your baggage is still missing and you’re requested to submit for claims.
  • All delayed baggage is subjected to Customs and Quarantine checks for international passengers.
  • Damaged baggage must be reported to baggage Services before you leave the airport
  • As part of our conditions of carriage, Air Niugini is not liable for damage to fragile, valuables and perishable items in the checked baggage with or without the airline’s knowledge
  • No liability to minor tear and normal wear and tear usage or any external features attached to the bag
