Airport Information

Remember that visa requirements can change with little or no notice. Double-check foreign entry requirements from your country of nationality by contacting the local embassy or consulate for the countries you are visiting. Most countries have different passport validity requirements prior to arrival however; some countries do not impose this.

  • Check-in officers have a responsibility to check on all visa and documents validity before you’re accepted for travel.
  • Check-in closes -45mins and boarding gate closes -15mins prior to departure.
  • Staff on duty travel is entitled to 30kg any excess weight, has to be pre-paid with an EMD or equivalent, check-in officer will not accept extra baggage weight without proper authorisation.
  • International, including overseas and domestic Lounge access is not available to All staff whilst on duty or leisure travel (Business class).
  • Please familiarise yourself on dangerous goods, do not help or carry stranger baggage as it may contain drugs and contraband goods. If in doubt, please see a Customs officer before exiting through the “Green Channel”.
  • Ensure you are familiar with different countries customs regulations’, certain countries impose Capital punishment if you are in caught in possession of illegal drugs.
  • Some airports have free complimentary city maps; do pick up a free copy before customs formalities or before entering into public arrival hall.
  • Most airports give Airline staff discount, your Air Niugini ID must be presented.
  • Health and travel advise by Governments are frequently updated on their websites, please take a moment to browse the internet for information before you travel.
  • Check whether you require vaccination against yellow fever for countries with high risk of yellow fever.
  • Malaria risk exists throughout the year in some countries; you’re advised to take necessary precautions.
