Mobile Payments Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Mobile Payments?
Mobile Payments is a payment service offered by Air
Niugini to accept payment of airfare through mobile devices.
Who can use this service?
Any customer of Bank South Pacific (BSP) can access the
service provided they are registered to BSP Mobile Banking.
How do you register to BSP Mobile Banking?
Contact your nearest
BSP Branch to find out how to register.
How do you access the service?
The airline ticket
payment option is accessible on BSP’s Mobile Banking by dialling the short code
*131# from any Digicel or bmobile-Vodafone enabled handset.
BSP customers will
need to register when dialling *131# for the first time.
How do you complete your travel booking?
Mobile payments only
enable payment of fare; it is not set up to make a booking. The booking will
need to be
completed at your nearest Air Niugini Sales Office,through the Air
Niugini Call Center on Toll Free numbers 180 3444 / 7104 3444 or
online at www.airniugini.com.pg. Booking
through Travel Agents are not eligible for Mobile Payments.
Do any conditions apply on the Travel Booking with Air
Niugini?
The following conditions apply to
bookings, to be eligible for mobile payments.

The
Point of Sale (POS) has to be Papua New Guinea for bookings completed at Air
Niugini Sales Offices.The Air Niugini Sales Officer will do this for you.
§
The
same applies for bookings made through the Air Niugini Call Center on Toll Free
numbers 180 3444 or 7104 3444
§
Any
booking completed online at www.airniugini.com.pg is eligible for Mobile Payments provided the
Departure City is a PNG port.
§
All
booking has to be completed Papua New Guinea currency (Kina)
§
The
Air Niugini Sales Office and Call Center are required to save Price Quote to
enable payment via mobile. The Form of
Payment should not be set by any Sales or Reservation Officers. If Price Quote
is missing the fare payment will fail on mobile.
What information do you need to complete the payment?
You need a valid
Booking Reference number. After completing your travel booking you will receive
your booking confirmation.
The Booking Reference is a 6 alpha value found on
your booking confirmation. If it helps please get a printed copy of the booking
confirmation at the Sales Office. If unsure ask your Air Niugini Sales
representative at time of booking.
Where is the payment deducted from?
Payment is deducted
from your Bank Account held with BSP. When paying on the mobile device you will
be asked to choose your Account.
Does a time limit apply when paying using mobile?
Yes. Customers have
120 seconds to complete the payment. This is a Mobile Carrier setting.
What if the session times out when completing the payment?
If the session times out after you have selected to
ACCEPT & PAY:

Wait
a few minutes to check if you receive a SMS notification. The SMS is only send
to you if payment was deducted and ticket issued.

Check
your balance using Mobile Banking. If funds were not deducted you may try the
payment again. Please note if payment was deducted and ticket issued, the
system will not allow you to pay for the same Booking Reference again. This
safeguards you from double payment in case of a time out

Contact

inquire about the status of your payment.
What information is sent when payment is successful?
You will receive a
SMS Notification with your E-ticket number(s). Use this to check-in at the
airport. If you wish to print
a copy of your itinerary please use Manage
Booking option on www.airniugini.com.pg
Can I pay the fare for someone else?
Yes. You could pay
the fare for a family member or friend. Simply ask for the Booking Reference
and ensure to get the full details of the booking to verify when paying the
fare.
You will need to forward them the SMS to use for check-in
Do any fees apply?
Bank and Carrier fees
may apply.
Check-in at Airport
Existing processes to
check-in passengers apply at the airport. This could be ID check amongst
others. You can show
the SMS notification with the Booking Reference and
E-ticket number(s) to the Check-in Officer
Can I get a refund for my fare?
Yes depending on the
conditions of your ticket. Please check fare conditions.
